Thank you so much for supporting Eli’s Encouragers!
The 4th annual Eli’s Encouragers Fundraising Dinner is just around the corner. This dinner this year will be nachos instead of spaghetti. We’ll have a short program, giveaways, and a silent auction. We’d love to see you there!

Here is the video that was played at the Spaghetti Dinner this weekend. Many thanks go out to Keith Harvey.
Thank you to everyone that participated and served in the 2015 Eli’s Encouragers Spaghetti Dinner! We had close to 200 people attend, and we raised over $3,200! All of you are Eli’s Encouragers, and there is no team without you. A big thank you to our silent auction donors:
Check out these folks if you are ever in need of their services!
Thank you to all who made the spaghetti dinner such a great success. We had 114 in attendance and raised over $2,200 for JDRF. Thank you to everyone that helped and to everyone that donated something for the auction. We continue to be amazed by the support of Eli’s Encouragers. Looking forward to the walk. Register now!
We hope to see you on October 11 at the Eli’s Encouragers spaghetti dinner. It is going to be a great time to get together with everyone. One of the things we are doing this year is a silent auction, and we have a nice list of things to bid on, including:
- Handmade quilt
- Dallas Mavericks tickets
- Oil change
- Decorative Halloween wreath
- Portable propane camping grill
- Kids books
- Photo session by Blessed by Grace Photography
- Pampered Chef gift basket
- Tickets to The Promise
- Mosaic cross
- Cookbook signed by Reata chef
- Cookie Platter by Decorative Dough
- Premier Jewelry
- doTerra Lemon Essential Oil and Wellness consultation
As more auction items become available we will list them here.
JDRF has revamped their website and made it very easy to register for the 2014 One Walk and/or donate. You can find our team’s information here. Once you register, the site makes it very easy to manage your own JDRF page so that you can fundraise on your own!
We’re getting ready to send out our walk letters as the 2014 JDRF One Walk in Fort Worth is less than two months away. We raised $9,000 last year and have set our goal at $10,000 this year. It seems like a lot, especially considering we were hoping for just $1,000 four years ago.
The walk this year is at Panther Island Pavilion on November 15, 2014 at 10:00. We’re hoping to have this blog be more active this year to spread more information about the great work being done by JDRF.
We hope to see you at the walk!
Here’s an interesting article from JDRF about an islet encapsulation trial that showed some promise. Islet encapsulation involves implanting new insulin-producing cells into a diabetic and creating a “wall” around them to prevent the immune system from destroying the new cells. While not a cure, it would keep a diabetic from having to inject themselves with insulin, as the body would be able to produce and use its own.
We’ve had a great response so far to the spaghetti dinner we will be having on October 5 to raise money for JDRF. You can show up at the door, but it would be great to have a headcount ahead of time. Tickets are $10 ($5 for kids 7 and under).
There are several ways to let us know you’re coming. Tell us in person/email/phone, contact us via the site, or sign up on the Facebook invite. If you need the invite, let us know and we’ll get it to you!
